Cardiothoracic Surgery
ForTec equipment for cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons
ForTec provides the latest surgical equipment for cardiologists, including the CO2 Heart Laser, which uses the Transmyocardial Revascular (TMR) technique* to reduce angina pain and improve quality of life for patients with coronary artery disease.
Validated by the STS and ACC/AHA, TMR is the process of creating transmural channels through the wall of the left ventricle with a CO2 laser. This procedure targets ischemic myocardium – particularly ischemic myocardium that cannot be directly revascularized by coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG) or percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
The CO2 Heart Laser offered by ForTec is the only ECG-synchronized system to deliver a single pulse on the R-Wave while the heart is at rest, reducing the likelihood of arrhythmia. View the TMR animation or download the full CO2 heart laser brochure.
Our entire selection of equipment solutions is meticulously maintained and we continually add more products and locations to meet the demands of customers. Customized, full-service programs are also available with convenient 24-hour live scheduling, expert physician and staff training, educational programs, service and repair, and more.
*According to the FDA, TMR is for patients with stable angina (Canadian Cardiovascular Society class 3, 4) refractory to medical treatment and secondary to objectively demonstrated coronary artery atherosclerosis and with a region of the myocardium not amenable to direct coronary revascularization.
