The 630nm PDT Laser system, manufactured by Diomed, is coupled with PHOTOFRIN® to perform Photodynamic Therapy for the treatment of Barrett's esophagus and esophageal and lung cancer.
The non-thermal laser light is delivered directly to the affected tissue using fiber optics.
When the presence of the red 630nm wavelength is introduced the PHOTOFRIN® is activated causing the destruction of High-Grade Dysplasia or cancer cells.
